I have removed blown cement/plaster from bedroom wall which was up to approx 20mm thick i have bought some thistle one coat plaster which i thought i could do the job in one go i am not worried if the finish is not perfect as most of it will be behind the radiator, should i apply SBR to brick wall before plastering or not ? any advice would be appreciated thanks.

Cavity wall?
Single skin wall think about breathable plaster.
Cheap orbital sander bodged on a vacuum with 80 grade will tidy rough plastering.
Just build layers. Don't try and do It in one.
Bung more plasterer on when it set a bit so it don't sag off.
Damp sponge over and polish a bit as plaster is setting. 2 or 3 mixes to build up.
You will be fine

Crack on then.
Not keen on one coat plaster myself like all the short cut products but you have it now.
Wang it on.
Like I said. Keep building out.
If you let it dry and come back 24h later you will find it harder Vs Keep building out the layers on wet set plaster until done
