Hi all,

I've recently put down new grass seed on an area that I had run the tiller over in my garden. I think Ive spread the seed a bit too sparingly as not that it's coming up it looks pretty sparse! Photo attached.

Can I just add more seed as it is? or do I need for this stuff to be properly established, rake it etc , then reseed? I don't want to kill what's already coming through.

Cheers

Just add more seed , if it’s in shadow you can get a seed more suitable to growing in the shade .

I would do one of three things:

1. Leave it alone for a few weeks and see how it goes
2. Scratch the surface gently with a rake and spread some more grass seed
3. Mix some topsoil with grass seed together and scatter lightly across the area
