Hi

Looking to lay a patio outside the extension.

Top of the gully is 100 mm below DPC. I think i have 4 options:

- lay the patio level with top of gulley so it’s only 100 mm below DPC.
- lay the patio 150 mm below DPC but accept the fact that the gulley will be 50 mm proud
- install channel drainage into the gulley. Lay patio 100 mm flush with gulley and channel.
- install pea gravel. Lay patio 100 mm flush with gulley

All options will have patio angled away from property.

Many thanks for your help!

I should have probably said - we’ve had major damp issues and I don’t want to repeat it :(

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

Thank you very much for getting back to me

Unfortunately, I don’t think it can be dropped anymore as it’s the high point of the run - there isn’t much of a drop as it is and the pipe is buried. Can anything be done to the gulley top?

Failing that, are the other suggestions silly? I’m just conscious of the 150 mm that they suggest about damp

Not sure if it would help, but you could look at 'lowback p trap' these are not as tall as bottle gullies etc and you could set lower to get the correct distance from DPC.
