I know it's probably tiring to read such posts over and over but I thought best to run some parts of the design here for advice.

I'm having a patio done pretty soon and need to place some walk over lights on the flags.
There is an external IP socket from power can be taken to a control box and from there with SWA to the lights.
The electricians are not available before the flags go down so I need to fit the SWA/junctions on my own.
They will come to check the work/photos and connect. I am also going to ask the MCB replaced with an RCBO to avoid potential tripping on the entire CU in the future (already protected by RCD).

The main part of the design is to use 1.5mm 3 core SWA and resin junction boxes to provide power for each light through the holes on top.

what other cable than SWA can I use to branch to the top to the lights?

The lights:

I am also considering to add two brick lights facing the laws at the edge of the patio. Although the whole concept may be a little ambitious.

Any thoughts most welcome!

Even as an electrician I have had cable joints go wrong. Main thing is test fully before back filling. What you are saying is your going to do all the work and back fill, then test, you may be lucky, but not a chance I would take.

Thanks, are there any resin jointing kits you would recommend or alternatively non-resin waterproof junctions?

Also what would be best to branch out to the light, weather resistant flex or arctic cable?

I was commercial, as such I did not have option to select makes, however main thing is if filled then no room for water, so even filled with petroleum jelly helps, but not grease, you can get re-enterable compounds which you can dig out if it all goes wrong.

With small cables having some spare is good, then one can remake one joint not two if there is a fault.

However main thing is test each joint before back filled.

My thoughts are that something buried in the ground could well start to leak, in which case you'll be stuffed.

And that those lights look like trip hazards.

Why do you want them? What function are they to perform?
