Paver-Pads

Hello All,

I’m looking at a project where I’d like to make use of some surplus’s 2’x2’x2” concrete slabs as support pads.

Grateful of some advice if I’m on the right track…..

I’m looking at making a base (about 4m x 2m) that will sit on six evenly spaced raised paver-pads.
Should I dig out say 18” deep, tamp in 6” hardcore and then 6”scalpings, and then finish with 6” shuttered concrete ?
Then mortar bed the six slabs in place / on top.

Why bother with the pavers as pads. The concrete without the pads will suffice.
For further advice, information about the nature of your project would help.

I’m thinking about viability of a flat-pack container.
The manufacturer recommended the six pads / provided a siting plan.

Flat pack container? Flat pack implies light weight.

The depth depends on ground conditions, lose the topsoil and see how firm it is/soil type. You might not have to go so deep.

Tom's point is valid, either pour a concrete pad or stack concrete blocks/slabs. No point in mixing up concrete if it's already available in an already made format.

Soil there is very loose.
There was a shed there (that I removed) so it hasn’t been at all compacted.
