Hey guys, I’m getting ready to replace a path that runs along the front of our house. It’s currently done with large Slabs, however, I am replacing these with brick pavers. I need to raise the path as it has sunken over time, do I need to worry about the damp proofing on the house?

I will be bringing the new path up to match the tarmac driveway that runs down one side of the house. I just don’t want to put this all down and then have a problem with damp in the house.

Start by working out at what level the DPC is on the house, your path level then needs to be at least 3" below that level. In fact nothing outside should be higher than that absolute minimum of 3" below the DPC.
