Hi, I have a section of crazy paved path and a section of asphalt path. The soil is heavy London clay. I'm planning to replace the two with one longer paved path. Is the old crazy paving (1.5-2" thick) any good for hardcore for the new path? And what about the asphalt? How much would I need to break it up and what depth of MOT type 1 (?) hardcore should I put over the top?
I noticed as I took up the crazy paving, which has probably been there since late 1920s, that it had nothing beneath it whatsoever except soil and it had lasted pretty well.
Any tips would be much appreciated.
