Fitted a new towbar socket to a neighbours Mitsubishi pickup recently.
Took about 1/2 hour.
Response: 'Aye - its nice to help folk in a crisis'. I've brought yer a lettuce.' (Cash being an evil word up here).
Welcome to the Northumbrian farmers sense of humour....
John :?

Check your lettuce for caterpillars.
Take care of them till they turn into butterflies.
Then sell the butterflies to collectors thereby turning your lettuce into hard cash.

bloody hell a real lettuce???
must be worth a fortune considering the ammount of rain youve all had up there.put it on ebay.

The stage beckoned for me in 1967 B/man with The South Downe Musical Society. The link shows a photo of me and other members of the cast, in an amateur show, "Goodnight Vienna", performed at the Fareham Assembly Hall, Fareham, Hampshire,, in November 1967. We did two shows a year. That's me,, on the far left of the back row, with my arm around the dame. The girl on the left of the front row, her cousin was in the group,,The Flowerpot Men", and they had a number one hit with "Let's go to Sanfrancisco" in 1967. Really happy days,, which i look back on with great fondness.

Don't see many black faces in the cast. Was the South Downe Musical Society a racist organisation?

You wont see many "white faces" in the Black Police Officers Association, or similar,,,,, are they a racist organisation???

several years ago we moved into this new house, and had to fit a new fortic tank, the guy we got the house from said that a neighbour would do the job for us, so we got him to do it, he fitted the tank put in new copper pipework and even plastered the wall round the Rayburn for us, whilst he was doing it, the guy we got the house from said that, not to offer him any money as he would be insulted, but to let him dig potatoes when ever he wanted(we had a small holding) so I thanked him and told him to help himself to spuds when ever he wanted, years later we became good friends and he told me what a tight fisted barstered he though I was.
