Hello All,
Please forgive me as I am not the brightest of people when it comes to computing.
I am about to buy a game controller and have been advised by some people who I know (exp gamers) not to install the microsoft drivers. That they will help me install the gamepad with drivers they have on their own website. I know these guys well and fully trust them, but does this sound right please ??
Many thanks

Ed.

Probably. Microsoft drivers tend to be generic drivers that will run a variety of devices. This can mean that a particular device would run with improved performance with the specific drives for that device. It is quite possible that they are just pointing you to a list of specific links to enable you to find the specific drivers without having to browse through the support pages of the manufacturer. If in doubt, download the latest drivers for your device from the manufacturers website.
