i get a message saying in a gray box

16 bit windows subsystem.

c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt. the system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows application. Choose close to terminate the application.

how can i cure this problem.

i may be wrong, but it sounds like you have the wrong driver.

why not try the makers website and download latest driver

This is a common problem and starts when you upgrade XP to service pack 2, and autoexec.nt is sometimes deleted. You commonly see the message with printers.

Fortunately, there is a backup copy of this file in the Windows repair folder. Open a command prompt and type the following:

copy c:\windows\repair\autoexec.nt c:\windows\system32 and press ENTER.

Restart your PC and then try to load the drivers.
