pebbledash over lead flashing

the lead flashing over my porch roof looks really messy
i want to pebbledash it so that it matches the rest of the house

questions:
1. i guess i need some kind of beading so that i can finish with a straight edge, how do i fix this to the lead?

2. will the mortar stick to the lead?

3. the area that i am covering has a width of 3 inches, should i do a scratch coat first?

2 type you can get, called render stop beading (flat type or angle type)

Screw it to the wall with a large non-rust washer thru' the metal expanding mesh and the lead flashing behind it, then render to the beading etc........
