I have attempted to repaint a ceiling with emulsion however the original coat ( I don't know what this was - it looked like basic white emulsion) peeled off. I then cleared all this off and painted again, however this has now cracked and peeled off. How can I prevent this a happening again?
the house is about 40 years old the paint that was on before I attempted to repaint looked ok but as soon as I statetd to paint over this came off also -all came off in large sheets both times
