HI THERE.
MY DAD HAS A PUG 407 DIESEL AND IN THE LAST 2 YEARS HAS HAD 3 SETS OF GLOW PLUGS FITTED, COULD THERE BE ANYTHING CAUSING THEM TO FAIL.
ONCE THEY ARE REPLACED IT RUNS FINE.
ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRICIATED.

MANY THANKS
PAUL

TURN OFF YOUR CAPS LOCK like this.

Where is he buying his diesel?

what brand of lugs is he using? cheapo no brand ones can die in weeks never mind months. i buy NGK, but there are other good makes.

NGK are good, also Beru (factory fit),don't overtighten torque 22Nm.
Premature wear and failure can be caused by a bad spray pattern on the injectors.(heater plug tip and injectors close together in the swirl chamber).
If this was the problem though, you would probably have had other symptoms, black smoke etc.
My best guess is the plugs are energised for too long, they keep heating on a timer after the glow-light goes out. This aids emissions and helps initial cold running, but yours may be over doing it.Sticking relay? You can check with a test lamp or voltmeter,if this is happening.
