Hi folks,

Can anyone help me out there? When I rebuilt my kitchen, the missus tiled the space between the kitchen units and the worktop. It looks quite good, but she grouted in the tile spacers. I haven't
said a word as she was pleased as punch with the job. The tiling's been done for a while now, but it's getting on my nerves and I want to sort it without her noticing. Shes away on holiday next week with her mother and I'd like to sort it then,

Any suggestions Guru's?[/b]

I tend to push them back thru with a small screwdriver and re-grout over the top. Use the same grout compound so she won't notice!

I have never tried this but would a soldering iron melt them down enough to regrout?Or a nail heated up on the gas. I should think one of the grout removing scrapers may help eitherside, before re-grouting.

Another possibility is an old dart or similar spiked into them and then prise them out.

Dremel do an attachment for their mini drill fo removing grout. It costs about £6.00 but you dont need a Dremel as it will fit into a standard chuck. You can then use this to remove the grout and spacers. I used one when we changed our windows , I had to remove a whole row of tiles around the existing openings on two windows without damaging any other tiles. Worked a treat and took no time at all.

A slightly different angle...

I know a bloke that'll make your wife disappear for £500. Any good???

:D

Only joking before anyone says anything!

(he wanted far more! )

Cheers guys,

I've used the re-grouting tool to remove them, I can't do
anything about the wife though, she's on double my wages!

Regards Hammy
