I have also tried the valelline trick for the little buggers 
(head lice) but never again....... I have tried everything and nothing works. I have found that washing the hair with dawn dish detergent and pulling out as much with your hands that will come out, then use a produce called Goo Gone (can purchase from local Wal-Mart) to cut the grease you may have to repeat 1 or 2 times but it does work. I have also heard that baby oil works as well Saturate the hair with baby oil and wash 2 times with dawn dish detergent Hope this works for all of you
