Hi

I've got an R reg, 1997, 1527 CC Peugeot 106 diesel.
When it's started from cold it runs really rough, missing and coughing out blue smoke.
This only goes on for about 10 minutes until it's warming up then it runs perfect, no smoke or anything.

I have changed the fuel filter, oil+filter and there are also no air bubbles in the fuel line.
The power is smooth and fine when warm and it doesn't rattle or anything.

On the pump there is a device which connects, via a cable, to the water hose.
When the car is cold this moves to make it tick over faster, I wondered if this also does the mixture too?
If I move it manually when cold it makes no difference.

Thanks in advance

Andy

im no expert on diesel pumps but i think it richens up the fuelling for cold starts via the wax stat(if your car has one) the cable you talk about thats in the cooling system,i have a problem on my escort td thats related to the coolant temp sensor but it does the opposite of yours,it starts to miss and chuff out blue smoke after about 5 mins running from cold

Has it had the fuel filter changed on it recently (or ever!)?
Be worth running some injector cleaner through it too (bottle in the fuel tank and fill up with diesel).
