peugeot 306 1.9 diesel haevy clutch

ok guys...ive checked a few 306 peugeot diesel cars and the clutch on them is very hard to press down.....is that normal....i was told that was normal ?...ta

No it's not normal, the cable is routed over the exhaust on RHD versions, which causes the lube in the cable to dry out.

will be the clutch itself that is causig the heavy pedal, very common.

I don't agree the 306 clutch is not at all heavy. Everytime my 306 comes back from servicing the clutch is stiff but after a short time it eases off and operates quite normally.
