Phone socket extensions

I want to add a two telephone sockets to the only existing one in my house which im assuming is the master.

Is it possible to run a extension from the master socket, and then run a second extension socket from the first extension socket?

Or do all extensions need to be wired directly to a master socket?

Yes. (it's actually the preferred method)

No. (but can do if it makes the cable runs easier)

Will do the first option as thats the easiest one for me to go with.
