I have had to sign up again as I forgot my password and cant access my old email account....

Anyway, I have moved the photocell that operates the outside lights.

I didnt take a note of the wiring, and am having issues wiring it back in.

I have wired it as per below, but cant seem to get it working.

It comes on for 5 seconds or so as expected, but then with the cell covered it does not come on at all.

Have I wired it up incorrectly?

Is the switch lablelled L1 L2 and L3 or COM L1 L2

If COM L1 L2 then put one wire into COM and the other into L1

Thanks, I will check, but the wiring on the switch it self, has not been touched since it was initially put in sometime ago.

They are in COM and L1.

When I turn the power back on, they come on for 5 seconds or so. Then turn off.

When I turn the switch off/on, they again come on for 5 or so seconds and again go off.

The cell is covered completley with a black cloth.

I take it that you mean with the switch 'on'?

Are you sure that you are waiting long enough for the light to come on? I presume that you have no documentation for the photocell which explains what the connections are? If that is the case, have you tried swapping the connections to the L1 and LO terminals of the photocell (which is about the only thing I can think of that could be wrong with the wiring)?

Kind Regards, John

Thanks John.

I mean turning the mains power back on.

Yes, I have left it for 5 minutes or more. I just turned the switch off and back on, they came on for 5 or so seconds and went off again.

I will try the terminals on the back of the switch.
