Clearly Pro is the main program but Essentials has far more icons to select for the quick result.
I have in the past used Piturenaut 3.2 and Photoshop CS5 but although they clearly will combine multi images to get a HDR image they do not have the local tone mapping which Photomatix has and it is this local tone mapping which returns the punch to any HDR image.
It also will of course over do the local tone mapping creating a surreal image. However blending using layers and masks can result in a more believable image.
But is it really worth using the Pro version or is Essentials good enough?
