pigeon poo

Hi,
We've got a building with a (badly designed) alcove at 2nd floor level which sits over a glass atrium. Pigeons roost in the alcove and poo all down the glass. Having tried pigeon spikes - which they seem to just sit behind - i'm looking at alternate solutions.

Has anybody every used an ultrasonic bird repeller? Do they work?

How about a glass infill panel for the alcove?

Yeah, that might work, hadn't thought of just panelling it in to remove the alcove.

Either that or a cat, a length of chain and an eyebolt.
