Can anyone tell me what pipe diameter 1 1/2 bsp is?

Okay, 1 1/2" BSP is 47.803mm major diameter. The tapping size (more or less the same as the minor diameter) is 45mm, the thread is 11 TPI.

Except they don't make 11/2" anymore it 40mm


The 40mm still has a 11/2" BSP thread on it though

Thanks guy's I didn't think of wiki.

It's just we have some pipe mods to some 50mm plastic do which includes a new solenoid valve and wasn't sure to go with 1 1/4 at £230 ea or 1 1/2 at £450 ea

I assume you mean 50mm MDPE, so the straight adapter would be 11/2".

The size of the solenoid would depend on the liquid and design flow rate/pressure.

At present it has a refrigeration 1 1/8th sol valve which is rusted up solid. We have spoken to several manufacturers and have decided on the right one.

But basically yes you are correct in what you write.
