Pipe lagging - the tricky bits

I’ve been lagging CH loft pipes (cable tied Climaflex 15x25 & 22x19).
What do you do with the tricky bits where normal lagging just won’t work.
See picture - could I use an expanding foam ?

Wrap wool felt insulation around best you can.
I think foam is a bit messy

Would be a bit overkill IMO.

Cut a section of the foam and then duct tape or glue it into place over the exposed pipe
