Pipes below our boiler leaking

Hi all,

I have had the landlord around and they have spoken to their contact, he can't visit the property until Wednesday.
Can I have your opinion on whether the nut around the pipe needs tightening?

The boiler works but eventually pressure drops off and once the boiler is turned off, it almost drops to 0 pressure.
This seems to occur more overnight when the temperature drops, would that mean that the pipes are shrinking and then expanding causing the leaks to increase?

It could be simply loose, or it could be that the seal has failed. If it seems loose, then try tightening 1/4 turn.

Yup, there will be a rubber seal in there so either it just needs a nip up or it needs a new seal, easy to do as the filter has 2 ISO's.

When the heating is on and up to temp does the pressure rise up to around 3 bar? If so then it needs the EV looked at, if not then it'll be the coupler, it doesn't take much to drop the CH pressure down to 0.

By ISO's do you mean isolation valves? would those be the big red ones on either side of the filter?

If I can't stop the leak, would turning the ISO's stop the leak until the tech arrives?

The boiler is off and it's reporting 0 pressure.

Yes but don't turn them off as the CH wont work. No reason not to use the system and keep topping up until they can get to you though IMO, as long as you can either capture the leaking water with towels etc or it's running into somewhere that's not critical.

Not if you want the heating to be on.. that should be the return pipe.

I nipped the nut just below the ISO, maybe 1/8th a turn and the leak stopped, boiler is running fine now with no leaks.

Still getting someone out as it could be the seal as mentioned.
