Regards everyone, and many thanks for all advice received.
Next query is this. Needing to install pipework for new rad in loft space. Currently, 22mm flow and return pipes connected to "spider" manifolds feeding 4 rads on 1st floor. Proposing to T off 22mm pipes before manifolds running 15mm pipes up into loft space. Is it OK to put service valves in 15mm pipes so these can be closed, system refilled and operated till loft conversion completed, then pipe up to rad in loft using 10mm from 15mm pipe tails and filling new part of system by opening service valves and bleeding? Are service valves in central heating pipework an OK idea or can they cause problems?
Any advice most welcome
