PIR repair

The questions to be asked are .......

How well did the original work ?

If the original worked why was it nescessary to replace it ?

The original wasn't working because it was broken up. As I said, I replaced it with a piece I cut from a milk container.
It works at the distance I set the pir for, it works when people cross in front of it, and it comes on as it is getting dark. I hope that satisfies the bloke who nearly wet himself.

that's for an external light?

the point is those PIR's don't need to be as specific as an intruder alarm PIR.

Glad you found a solution that worked for you but wouldn't recommend it on an intruder alarm PIR.

I cut a piece to size from a plastic milk container. It works just as well and in exactly the same way as the original.
My lamp PIR sensor plastic was like this.

Put this cut-out on the PIR sensor like this

the PIR sensor now switches on the bulb at night.
The PIR sensor is not 180 degrees, as was though , it is now about 90 degrees facing forward, which is good enough. This saved me having to wire in a new PIR sensor or to replace the whole PIR controlled lamp.
