PIR Sensor that can 'see through walls' legal?

just reading about your lighting issues , i suspect that the light involved has a microwave detector and not a PIR which will penetrate doors etc call the installers who should be able to adjust the sensitivity if it cannot be reduced any lower the only other option is to replace the sensor for a standard PIR

Too many pages to scroll through to see if the answer has been given, but I would say it is VERY likely you have a Microwave Occupancy Detector. These WILL see through walls if not positioned and commissioned correctly.

ah yes, you're probably right to refer to microwaves. but, it's quite a broad definition. it's easier for the OP to perhaps understand with a link to a product :D
