PIR with "normal" use as well

I have a couple of coach lamp style lights at the front of my house. They work off a normal light switch. I'd like to add a pir detector to them for security and convenience.

Is there a type of pir detector that easily allows overriding so I can switch the lights on, off or pir detect?

Yes. Get one that has "pulse mode" over-ride. Then you can use your existing switch.
