Planning appeal dismissed in 2000: probably of success of re-application ?

We are hoping to move in the next couple of months to a property located in the Green Belt which had a planning Appeal dismissed in 2000.

Being a complete novice to the perils of planning consents - is there 1/ the potential to re-apply and 2/ probability of success given the original appeal was dismissed ?

It depends if the Local Plan/design guidance has changed in your advantage in the meantime.

Though what you can do under Permitted Development (ie without needing Planning Permission) has also changed since 2000.

Have you obtained the appeal decision document from 2000? This will state the key factors that were weighed in reaching the decision to dismiss the appeal. If you can show that those reasons are no longer applicable(, or significantly weakened) then your likelihood of success is improved.
