My first attempt at this did turn into a bit of a rant so i deleted it.
What i wanted to ask was if details given in planning applications, regarding trees, hedges drains etc. are actually checked by planners, is it an offence or breach of contract to give false information.

This case relates to a business and applicant states the business has outgrown exsisting building and the building will not comply with health and safety regs etc. Plans are to expand the exsisting business, employ more staff etc. but they actually have no intention to do this. so in effect are giving misleading information to planners

How do you know what they don't intend to do?

He told you that to shut you up. He thought that was what you wanted to hear.

I don't understand what you mean by that reply Joe, why would he say that to shut me up ?

So you wouldn't contest his application.

Sorry Joe maybe i didn't explain it very well, he doesn't intend to expand the business in its current form, after stressing all the details about new contracts etc to planners, He actually intends to start a completely different business, so all the information in his application and appeal etc is false, hence my question

Planning is nothing to do with who he employs or what he employs them for. He can change his mind whenever it suits him. If you don't want his expansion then oppose his application.
