plaster boarding

hi just pulled all the plaster off a wall in a old house,
behind the plaster are wooden latts would it be ok to plaster board over the top or do i need to remove all the latts first
any advice please.

You can board over the lathes, although it's wise to saw off the bits that overlap, otherwise the studs will have high spots at those points. I prefer to remove all the lathes, and then insulate and board.

Loose the latts and make sure you get all the nails out before plaster boarding.

Keep the top of the boards flush to the ceiling, don't worry to much about small gaps at the floor if you are going to put skirting on.
