I need to plaster a small area of the wall to cover some chasing that I filled in and which is standing proud and still no better after sanding :(

The area I am planning to cover is about 600 mm across by 2.3m high, the wall being about 3.0 m across/

WHat is the best way to go about this without leaving a visible join?
Thanks

Hi Bahco.
600mm x 2.3m sounds like quite a big area.
How good's your skimming? May be easier than trying to sand down/blend in seamlessly.

Sorry I should have said that I need to skim aaprox 600 x 2.3m and dont want to see a join.

My skimming is not good enough to extend to all of the wall. :(

I agree with the above, if your skimming isn't up to it, you can always refill again after sanding back the easy fill.

Either keep sanding or Easyfill on the rest of the wall & even more sanding. If you can’t skim, your best bet is to get a plasterer in to reinforce the join & skim the entire wall; it’s really the only way to guarantee an invisible join. Even with the largest walls your probably looking at just a couple of hours work; you may get charged ½ day but that won’t (shouldn’t) be more than 80-100 quid.

Difficult to tell looking at a 2D pic, I can see a few tram lines but it doesn’t look that bad. Mist it after a few days when dry & see how it looks, a little filler & you may be OK. I’m sure joe will be kind to you ;) .

Still got the signature then, I can remember when you were counting in days  . Don’t think you’ll ever go back now unless your really stupid & if your anything like me, from 40 a day I’ve since turned into a bit of an anti-smoking demon  ; but I’m now 10 years on ;)
