Hi, I'll try to be as clear as possible.
I am re doing the bathroom and taking out the bath to put a shower enclosure in. when removing the tiles its made a real mess of the walls, one plasterboard and the other brick. the bath as yet is still in position but i removed the panel and under the bath is just bare brick but above where the tiles were is like its been plastered.
I am assuming now that when i remove the bath its gonna be plstered down to bath level then in a half inch or so then brick to the floor! heres my question now, can i use wooden battons on the brick to level it out to the plaster and then fix plasterboard vertically onto both the existing plaster and the battons using fixings for a closer fit?
Space is a major issue as its a tiny bathroom so trying to save as much space as possible! the wall is inbetween houses so therefor damp isnt an issue, and same question for the other internal plasterboard wall.

Yes you could!
with it being a shower area, I would opt for the cement boards.
By battening out, this would also offer a void for the pipework to the shower valve.

Thank you, since the shower will be on the internal wall, the pipes should run up thee no problems :D

Also, I notice alot of people talking about this aqua panel, seeing as I have a pva water sealer sitting here can I not use regular stuff and coat it with this an that be the same?

Aqua panel is a brandname of cement board, all much of a muchness, but plasterboard is not for shower areas.
