plasterboard over brick, small area, how to fix

Hi all,

I have a plaster in next week to skim my living room

I have boarded out the recess in the fireplace (and vented) in order to fix in some audio equipment in, in the near furture

This leaves me with an area of about 2' by 1' above the fireplace which is bare brick. I was going to plasterboard this, ready for the plasterer to skim over

What would be the best way to fix this? Its only a small area, and didnt really want to buy some plasterboard adhesive just for this,

many thanks

You could use grab adhsive but the decent stuff is over £2 a tube & a bag of proper adhesive is less than a fiver!

you cant use bonding plaster or even a mortar mix? just intrigued thats all
