Plasterboarding

Taken down an old plasterboard cieling which had been artexed & bowed, question do i reboard with normal 12ml plasterboard or some kind of fireboard as it is in the kitchen.Aprox size is 4.5m x 2.7m. Should i keep to some kind of regs for this.

You could double board the ceiling with 12mm plaster board which will give you a 1hr fire rating. Don't forget to stager the joints.

12.5mm boards will be fine.
You will have 30 minutes fire protection.

I am not sure what evidence is out there, that proves double boarding offers 60 minutes of protection?
