Hi, new to the Forum. I am currently doing my own loft conversion and. I live in a semi and have one gable wall and 3 hipped sections of roof. There is a hip rafter x 2 which is 9” wide and runs the full length of the two roof corners. The main roof rafters are 5” so I have the hip rafter protruding approx 4”. I don’t know how I should approach plaster-boarding up to the hip rafter for the following reasons
How do fix boards to the hip rafter to stop boards flapping about
What do I do with the hip rafter, do I live with it being exposed?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

You can loose the hip rafters by planting on 50mmx50mm to underside of existing rafters then 50mm underdraw insulation.
