Hi
Wanting to build a ground floor extension with a gable roof approx 25 degrees joining a hip roof approx 40 degrees . This gable will start at the end of the bungalow and finish about half way along, this part is straight forward was wondering how the valley board and lead from gable roof will hit the hip rafter and ridges at the end where soffit and gutters are. the new gable roof may start higher at soffit level but then run away from hip ridges as it goes up the roof. hard to explain any ideas ?
cheers

What are you actually asking?

Do you have any building experience? Or at least a bit of sketching ability to better describe what you are referring to.

All of the gable extensions I've seen that join a hipped roof, are either the same pitch as the hip so on the end there would be no need for ridge tiles. Or the gable extension is set in from the end of the wall, so the lead valley does not interfere with the first ridge tile on the hip rafter. Its the detail where the first ridge tile starts and how to sort the lead work out. cheers

Effectively you will have a hip and a valley converging.

tricky!l

I can’t see a solution TBH, but maybe a pro roofer will have a solution

Why not do it the way of many examples ? Otherwise you will get a horrible bit of diminishing roof on your main roof may look like below

As above do gable same pitch or you with end with slithers for tile towards the bottom can't you offset the extension or do same pitch and hip end the extension
