know the stuff you mean, it's paper with strips of metal that is folded to make an external angle bead when taping and jointing.

Sorry , I meant to say does it perform as good as a angle bead
not in my opinion mate but it's meant for taping only, not as strong as a thincoat angle bead and can't be skimmed.

I'm with TM,,,, you'd only use that stuff for taping corners. Fix a thin coat angle bead down the corner and skim it,,,, gives a far better, stronger job.
