Hi all, need some tech help with a small job i have to do.

I have become quite a talented plasterer (if i dont say so myself) however i have been given the job of plastering a friends conservatory. Two walls are external brick finish and the one is internal. Now i presume i can just bond and the set the internal but i guess i have to render the external walls (they are only 800mm long X 300mm high.

Its a cavity wall and thats all the info i have.

The question is does it have to be rendered cant i get away with Hardwall or something and if it does need rendering what exactly is the ratio and what prep is required?

Thanks loads, i have tried searching the forum but to no avail.

Thanks

we dot and dab before final skim. its quicker and there is less chance of cracks appearing as the wall dries out. ;)

Hi thanks for the quick reply but the problem with that is that there is limited space and the plastering/rendering needs to be kept to a minimum.

if you used 9.5mm board and the walls are plumb, then the overall thickness should only be around 15mm. make sure you muck the edges of board in well to stop cracking.
