Plastering an internal corner

I stripped some wallpaper last night to find quite a bit of loose plaster (from someone else's crappy repair job) in an internal corner of one of my upstairs rooms.

When I pulled the loose stuff away I was left with a gap down the corner between the two brick walls - varying from a crack a few mm wide to a hole 5cm across at the worst point.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to tidy this corner up? Could I use expanded metal angle beading - the stuff normally used on an external corner? Or is there a better way?

No need to use metal expanding on internal walls, just seal it with Unibond then re-plaster with all in one plaster finish type.
