Hello Folks
I have recently had my windows replaced by a local company . Part of the process was to reduce the size of the windows in my 3 bedrooms and rebuild and plaster the stud walls . The area to be plastered measures around 1/2 meter wide by 1 meter high at each side of the 3 windows .
The plastering was carried out by the same company , who specialise in Home Improvements . I was not happy with the finish and had to spend a long time trying to rectify it . In hindsight I should have insisted they fix it , but wanted to try and get the rooms finished
I am currently in dispute with them and looking for compensation . Their position is that they only provide "Patch Plastering" - which is not of a finished standard and that this is compatible with "Industry Standards" . This wasnt mentioned by their salesman at the contract stage .
My argument is that we would never knowingly agree for them to supply a sub-standard finish which would then have to be made good later .
Does anyone have knowledge or experience of the Industry standards of which they speak .
What do you think ?
