Hi all

Ive just put a cement mix containing plastisicer and waterproofer on and internal brick wall....(not sure if its just for use on external walls)......we had a slight damp problem (shoud be sorted now)

Just wanted to know if this type of cement is OK to plaster straight on top of

Thanks for any advise

Have you put a "scatch coat" on and then a "float coat" with a devilling float? If so there will be no probs skimming it . And why w/proofer and plasticiser in the mix? One or the other would have been ok . And if it was a damp wall , did you treat the damp problem before you coated it? If not a cement mix with w/proofer in wont cure damp problems on its own.....

Im asking for my father (new to computers)

We have damp on an internal wall and couldnt figure out where the damp was comming from......it was around a bay window area (and was more wet than damp to be honest)

He has opened up part of the bay to look in the cavity and has done some damp proofing.....not sure where as I wernt there when he did it......not sure why he used that mix either to be honest

He just wanted to know if it was ok to skim over ....its only a small section so im sure hes scratched it

Thanks again
