Hi, I will soon be plastering over some copper water pipes that I've chased into the bathroom wall for our new shower. Here is a picture.

I originally intended to simply fill the chases with bonding plaster a couple of millimeters short of the surface then do the last couple of millimeters in multifinish.

However, I've since read on here (and other forums) that I should wrap the copper pipes in something first. Doing this will allow the pipes to expand and contract under the plaster and will also protect the pipes from corrosion (ie the plaster slowly attacking the copper, which can take up to 20 years apparently).

So what’s the best protection to use?

Thanks in advance
