plastering

im new to the d.i.y thing so if this seems a stupid question i apologise in advance but can someone give me advice on plastering, a good book, pdf file, website, something with all aspects and circumstnces that can show me what to do and why each stage is important,

Having done a bit of plastering myself i would recommend the following:

1) find out about the different types of plasters and where they are supposed to go.. last thing you want to do is to apply the wrong plaster to the wrong type of wall.

2) try to practice

3) make as much plaster that you can handle (especially finishing plaster!)

4) check these sites:
