I'm after a plate heat exchanger to supply a single radiator about 1000mm x 600mm

Preferably an insulated one suited to take 15mm pipes in and out. Can someone point me in the right direction please?

One wonders exactly why you are planning to use a plate HE to transfer heat to this radiator.

To make it work it will need a pump to circulate the secondary water, a filling loop and an expansion vessel.

Normally also a time clock and a room stat and possibly a relay to call for heat from the boiler.

With all that equipment, there must be a very compelling reason for using the plate!

Antares do good value SS plate heat exchanges, but you need to know the parameters of the Primary & Secondary mediums.

The plate is to supply an office in a detached garage. I want to make the garage a sealed pressurised system dosed up with antifreeze inhibitor as some of the pipework runs through an unheated part of the building.

I previously had this connected directly to the open vented house heating system. One of the pipes froze and burst in the depths of winter and a pretty devastating flood ensued.

I've now piped up the garage onto its own zone valve direct off the boiler to supply the plate. If the worst happens again and a pipe bursts the water which escapes will be minimal.

I realise I'll need a circulator, filling point, expansion vessel and T&P valve plus the associated wiring just to supply this one rad, but I think it'll be a much better setup once it's all installed.

It seems a lot of trouble to go to when the whole system could have been dosed with antifreeze but at least you can now have independent control of the heating there.

Or just lag the pipes! A frost thermostat and pipe-stat to turn it off again would be still be far cheaper given that it's already on it's own zone too!
