Please advise how to adjust these hinges. I have to seriously push my back door in order to pull the handle high enough to lock Any guidance please?

I suspect you need to get the cap open to reveal the hinge adjusters.
Try loosening the screws nearest the hinge!
 
Yep front cap off and adjust, these aren't the best composite door hinges around, i've only come across then 3 or 4 times in 30 years

Depends where the door is catching and which way you need to move the door, usually if the handle isn't going right up then the door has dropped or it's cocked over at the top, in your case probably over to the right. With the type of hinge you have it means removing screws and repositioning the door so it locks then screwing screws back in a different place, these hinges don't have allen key adjustment like proper hinges do
