I told him I am happy to pay what it takes to fix as I understand these things happen.....but he is not returning my calls at all. 3 weeks and counting. The dripping fills a large jug over about 2 days so not serious on that front (we switched off the boiler when we went away over a weekend and it stopped dripping)

Send him something firm like a text or email that you do want it sorted out.

It has rather questionably been left in a dangerous condition with a leak on what is technically part of the flue assembly. But it is unlikely anyone would ever consider to be so bad that the boiler should be left turned off.

In theory, if he does not respond to a proper WRITTEN request then you can make a complaint about him to Gas Safe.

Do you know exactly which part of the assembly is cracked?
