was sortin some stuff out 2day and had some stuff to go to the tip. so i cut the plug off incase i ever needed it. as i was doin thi i relized that the manufactures put the QA pass label (the little round 1's) on the earth pin... at the point where it would make contact with the socket earth.... what a place to put a sticker! fortunatly, it wasnt an earthed appliance

Maybe it isn't money.

Maybe some people consider the enviromental costs of:

a) dealing with the disposed item

b) the unnecessary manufacturing, packing, shipping and retailing of a replacement item

sorry BAS, i consider my hand well and truly slapped by the people at greenpeace.

I only mentioned it because my dad used to chop plugs off appliances and save them, we had about 10 at one point, but he never used them. Its dangerous if you just leave the flex hanging out, a small child could plug it in and kill him/herself.
