plumbing 2 washing machines

Is it possible to plumb 2 washing machines, side by side, its mainly the waste we are concerned about, is there a larger waste pipe we can buy?

Plumbing for water will be no problem, and plumbing for waste I would use 2" to carry the waste water should the machines empty at the same time.
 
It seems to work ok with two at once into 40mm. McAlpine sell various doobries to connect them. One possible danger is that one machine pumps into the other if there's a blockage, though.
 
Thanks for your replies, I will only use 2nd machine once a week as its for my animal blankets.
