Plumbing and central heating

Hi

As per my other thread about electric plans (https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/electrical-wiring-layout.510062/) we are doing a large extension / rebuild and have no plans for plumbing, is there a standard way to specify how the plumbing and central heating ought to be installed in the new rooms?

I will call up and speak to a plumber and am also asking here.

Start by looking at the heat loss in this new room/rooms.
Check to see if your boiler is able to heat this extra load.
Where can you connect to the flow / return

If it is a radiator system you need to calculate the radiator heat output required and then choose a radiator size to exceed that.

There are many different sizes and underfloor is another option for a new built part.

A good heating engineer will source a size that will fit in well with your room designs and layouts.
